From November 21 to 23, 2024, the 20th China Solar Silicon and Photovoltaic Power Generation Seminar (20th CSPV) was grandly held in Shenzhen. As the most important academic conference in China’s silicon materials and photovoltaic power generation sector, CSPV focused on cutting-edge photovoltaic technologies and the latest applications, bringing together experts to discuss new technological developments, present research findings, and share trends in innovation and future market directions.
As the organizer of this conference, Han’s PV also hosted a parallel forum on crystalline silicon and tandem technologies. During the forum, a series of cutting-edge technologies were shared, injecting new vitality into the innovative development of the photovoltaic industry.

Research Progress on Laser Patterning of BC Cells
Han’s PV Laser Process Director Huang Qianhao delivered a presentation titled “Research Progress on Laser Patterning of BC Cells.” He introduced BC cells and shared Han’s PV’s latest advancements in the laser patterning of BC cells. This included Han’s PV’s thin-disk laser technology route and R&D progress, achieving China’s first picosecond thin-disk laser with a single-pulse energy exceeding 0.5 J and an average power over 200 W, and further breaking higher power milestones in 2024.Han’s PV’s laser lineup includes CO₂ lasers, UV and ultrafast lasers, and pulsed lasers, with thin-disk ultrafast lasers being widely applied in the patterning of BC cells.

Laser Applications in Perovskite Cells
Han’s PV Perovskite Project Director Huang Jinyang delivered a presentation titled “Laser Applications in Perovskite Cells.” The talk primarily introduced Han’s PV’s laser processes, R&D progress, and products for single-junction perovskite and perovskite tandem cells.
The laser process primarily focuses on processing requirements, detailing laser selection and key parameters. This includes how to choose the laser wavelength and pulse width to better match coating materials, minimize thermal effects and “volcano” defects, and ensure proper electrical isolation.
The R&D progress section mainly explains the company’s timeline in thin-film and perovskite cell development, the laser equipment market, and equipment upgrades and iterations. Highlights include: Cumulative shipments of laser equipment in the thin-film photovoltaic industry exceeding 1 billion units. Delivery and acceptance of two perovskite cell production lines over 100 MW each to leading domestic enterprises, achieving conversion efficiencies above 19%. Evolution of equipment structure from the earliest 4/8-channel mechanical beam splitters and 12-channel DOE splitters to the latest 24-channel mechanical splitters supporting a 30-second takt time and 500 MW production capacity. The products cover all laser processes for single-junction perovskite production lines, including P0 laser marking, P1/P2/P3 laser scribing, P4 laser edge trimming, P5 laser transparency patterning, and P6 laser film removal and cutting. For tandem cells, the applicable laser processes are tested in collaboration with customers and evaluated for production line integration.

Applications of Vacuum Equipment in TOPCon and XBC Cells
Han’s PV Vacuum Coating Technology Director Liu Luxia delivered a presentation titled “Applications of Vacuum Equipment in TOPCon and XBC Cells.”The presentation introduced the efficiency improvement concepts and pathways for TOPCon and XBC cells, emphasizing the critical role of vacuum equipment in key efficiency-enhancing technologies such as PN junction formation, double-sided POLY, and edge passivation. It highlighted Han’s PV’s equipment layout and solutions in the photovoltaic industry, showcasing the technical features and application scenarios of its flagship products: PECVD equipment, LPCVD equipment, PE-POLY equipment, diffusion furnaces, and ALD equipment. The R&D team has also accumulated extensive experience in addressing industry challenges and improving product performance, including: Reducing equipment operating costs Lowering the frequency of high-voltage sparking Extending the lifetime of quartz components Improving film thickness and sheet resistance uniformity Enhancing equipment UP-TIME and overall reliabilityTOPCon电池LPCVDHan’s PV’s vacuum equipment is fully independently developed with complete intellectual property rights and is widely used in the research and production of crystalline silicon cells, continuously enabling cost reduction and efficiency improvement across the industry.
